All about the bouquets

Hello friends

It is Wednesday, it is sunny and warm and it is June!  What's not to love about longer days and summer close at hand.  I love going to sleep at night with it being still light out even though the sun had set.  I love feeling the warm breeze through my bedroom window.  I go outside and I can smell the apple tree and cherry tree blossoms.  Next to sweet peas, cherry blossoms are the best!  It's all good.  Yesterday's post would have been a beef post.  Beefs about lots of stuff but today's is all about bouquets.  Speaking of bouquets, I just picked my first one of the year.  I love the smell of lilacs.

First off, Riding Mountain Triathlon in Clear Lake, Manitoba highlights an athlete on their website every week and this is my week.

It is pretty darn exciting !

Next, training has been going well despite an ITBand that isn't up to snuff yet and the hectic schedule right now.  Lots of longer bike rides and bike rides to town then track workout and ride home again. Our outdoor pool just opened a couple days ago so planning to get some lap swimming done in the early mornings.  I feel good about running the half in 2 weeks but it will be a run/walk system with no goals.  Gotta go with what you got.

One of my favourite blogs is Dorothy Beal at www.mileposts.com.  In the current issue of the Saucony newsletter, she wrote the guest inspirational post.  It is short and sweet and you got to read it.  Very insightful and if you are a runner like me, the post describes exactly what running means to us crazy people.

Have a super Wednesday and don't forget to smell the flowers!
